With summer *finally* here, it’s been nice to get outside without having to bundle up. Thou this is my first summer with an infant. I can’t sit in the sun myself because of him. Loki is only 4 months old so I can’t put sunblock on him yet. So we stay in the shade. The older two love the sun. We’re lucky that our neighbor has an above ground pool that they are able to swim in.
Plans for the week are to get the house cleaned and get stuff packed for this weekend. We’re driving to MIL’s for the 4th. They haven’t met Loki yet so I guess it’s time.

Hair loss

My one main vanity is my hair. I love my hair. But sadly it seems my hair doesn’t like me. I am 25 years old and I have bald spots.

Yes my hair will grow back. My hair lost isn’t because of genetics, it’s from improper diet. I knew I would have a hard time eating after getting my teeth removed on April 28th, but I don’t think I really knew. I used my little nubs of teeth more than I had realized. I am getting dentures, but I still have 2 more impressions to do before they are done.

So much to my husband’s and best friend’s dismay, I am seriously considering shaving my head. Or maybe a mohawk thingy. If I’m going to lose my hair, I want it to be on MY terms, not my head.

I give my hair one more week, if the hair loss contuties majorly even thou I have my Boost drinks, taking extra vitamens and trying to eat more meat (my main thing I can’t eat well right now.) then my husband may come home from work one day to a shaved wife.

Works for me Wensday ~ Complete Mouth Care

I’ve talked about my mouth problems before here ~ Well I found something this past Saturday that I must share with you.

Complete Mouth Care System ~ It’s through a site called Zellies.

What you do is

Pre rinse with CloSYS ~ I bought it at Wal-Mart for under $10.
Brush your teeth ~ they recommend using Crest Regular toothpaste (I was afraid to because of sensitivity issues so I’ve been using Aquafresh kids toothpaste)
Rinse with Listerine ~ I’m using Scope because it was on sale!
Do a final rinse with Act

It’s important to not rinse with water between steps. The Zellies website also recommend eating at least 6.5 grams of Xylitol a day as well. I haven’t gotten that far yet but I plan to. Why? Because in the few days I have done the above I’ve had no pain! None!

Dr. Ellie ~ owner of the Zellie website has a blog where she answers questions she’s received. On this entry she talks about “brown spots” ~ guess what? I have brown spots! Meaning the plaque is dying.

I’ve done some researches on Xylitol ~ it was used as table sugar over in the European countries during WWII because of sugar shortages. I don’t plan on buying Xylitol from the Zellies website because there are other places that sell it cheaper but I love the Complete Mouth Care System!

Winter blues and Changes

Ah, the lovely (not) winter blues have set in on the Spider household. Mainly me and the Hubby. I can’t wait until we can go outside without worry about frostbite, hypothermia and the like. I dream of green grass, flowers blooming, digging my hands into soft earth planting a garden. Hearing the kids run around laughing and screaming with joy. Ah, such is the life!

I’m handling the W.B. pretty well once I decided to not let them get to me, but alas they are hitting Hubby
pretty hard right now. The constant wind here in North Dakota isn’t helping much neither. I do what I can for him ~ like this weekend we are going to load up on orange juice with vitamin D and possibly get some multi-vitamins for him as well.

I felt the need to change the layout a bit ~ haven’t finished yet but will hopefully soon!

I’ve also decided to change my routine a bit. Usually after everyone else goes to bed I stay up to have some peace and quiet. I don’t go to bed until usually midnight or later. I’m now going to try and get up when Hubby does at 5:30 am and go to bed soon after he does. Not at the same time because he actually falls asleep faster and easier when I’m not in the bed. LOL. With me getting up when he does ~ and the kids not normally getting up until 7:30 or later, I’ll be able to get my “quiet” in the morning ~ hopefully blogging while I drink my tea and fully wake up!

Bud awhile ago got a hold of my camera ~ me not thinking much of it except telling him to get his own ~ and lost my memory card!! The bugger! It was an Xd card so it’s not like I can swipe the memory card out of his camera either. So picture taking has come to a halt. If I want to take quality pictures with my camera I can only hold like 3 pictures at a time with the built in memory ~ I can’t handle that. So once we have the money I’m buying a new memory card!

We’ve also bought Lil’ Miss a potty chair last weekend. She’s only 16 months old so we’re not pushing the potty issue but she has expressed the want to use the potty. She’s very cute. To get her to sit longer on her chair she has a “potty book”. It’s actually Bambi but she only gets to read it when she’s on the potty. At first she didn’t like me taking it back once she got of the potty but now she hands it to me when she gets off.

Bud is also starting to wake up dry in the morning so soon we won’t have to buy nighttime pull-ups! I’m so happy!

Well that’s what’s happening on my side of the woods ~ how’s everyone else?

Aphrodite

Aphrodite, known as Venus by the Romans.
The Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and procreation.

Symbols of Aphrodite:
Golden apples, dolphin, swan, dove, sparrow, bees, goats

Rose, quince, myrtle, mint, grape (the fruit, leaves and vines), articokes, laurel, ash and poplar trees

Pearls, gold, aquamarine, rose quartz, jade, sapphire, silver, and copper

Red, pink, violet, silver, aqua, pale green (seafoam), any shade of light blue.

Aphrodite was not perfect. In a lot of ways you could see her as petty and vain, but she was loved by all. Is it any wonder roses are a symbol of love?

Ways to bring Aphrodite into your life:

Slow down! Take your time, rushing can make it difficult to be sensual and caring.
Let yourself feel beautiful, sensual and loving ~ without feeling guilty. Make the time to do those things that delight and please you.
Set aside some time each day to connect with someone you really care about. Even a few minutes to give them your full attention.
Dress up, wear something sensual, even if it’s your bright red panties under your “dress for success” suit.
Keep the work out of the bedroom! Fluff up some fancy pillows and put the scented candles all around.
Surround yourself with Aphrodite’s symbols. Dress in her colors, and think of her appreciatively as you put on pearl earrings and dab on the scent of roses.
Turn your bathroom into a pleasure spa. Bath oils, scented candles, bath salts ~ thickest towels you can afford and fill it with music.

Thinking of yourself as beautiful and *gasp* sexy is the key. Forget about the stretch marks, love handles and extra weight ~ YOU are beautiful just the way you are.

Homemade bath salts:

In a large glass or metal bowl, stir together:

2 cups Epson salt or Dead Sea salt – or 1 cup of each
1-2 teaspoons of baking soda, if desired (makes skin soft.)
10-12 drops of essential oil

After you have stirred the salt really well ~ the more you stir the more the wonderful scent begins to come through ~ pour into pretty glass jars and attach lids.
“Add several tablespoons of bath salt to warm water for a relaxing bath.”

You are sexy. You are beautiful. Just keep repeating that!
